The latest incarnation of the MicroMillions online poker series from PokerStars kicked off on Thursday and has since produced a host of big winners.

Running until July 28 and featuring a total guarantee of at least five million dollars spread over 100 events, the fifth instalment of MicroMillions has so far crowned 43 winners with Argentina’s ‘Venoxero’ the latest micro grinder to have earned himself a title. After wading through 13,480 players in Event #43, the $3.30 buy-in no-limit hold‘em $25,000 Guaranteed affair, the online player was able to scoop a cash prize of $5,549 after beating Uruguayan ‘ariel329’ heads-up although the runner-up bagged $3,842 for his troubles.

While two of poker’s smaller nations enjoyed deep runs last night, it was one of the game’s powerhouses in Russia that was dominating the MicroMillions V leaderboard. At present, the best player of the series is ‘ProSkill’, who has banked 260 points ahead of Germany’s ‘bastet2004’ on 240 and fellow Russian ‘FENOMENICO’ with 220.

On offer for the best MicroMillions V player is a $5,200 buy-in 2013 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) main event ticket while those making it into the top 50 are to receive tickets valued at either $1,050 or $215.
