MicroMillions V begins

Thursday, 18 July 2013

The fifth edition of the MicroMillions online poker series from PokerStars begins today with the first batch of its 100 events.

Running until July 28, the festival has a total guarantee of at least five million dollars spread among a host of tournaments with buy-ins ranging from as little as eleven cents up to $22.

Last time around, MicroMillions IV smashed all records and not only paid out $9,588,892 but became the largest online festival ever with a total of 1,572,760 entrants. This time, PokerStars is hoping the recent excitement surrounding the WSOP will encourage even more grinders to take to the felt in search of a bumper payday.

In total there will be five MicroMillions V tournaments played today including a $15,000 guaranteed affair featuring a buy-in of only eleven cents. This is to be followed by a one-dollar buy-in no-limit hold‘em rebuy affair with a prize pool set at $150,000.

Arguably the main attraction of MicroMillions V is set to be the buy-in $22 no-limit hold‘em main event on July 28, which will feature a 10,000 chip starting stack and ten-minute blinds. The one million dollars up for grabs has already enticed just under 2,000 players to register in advance.
