Thursday, 26 May 2011

Top class tournament action returns to Merit Cove complex in Northern Cyprus next month in the form of the Merit Summer Open which takes place from 13th to 19th June.

The week-long festival features a great selection of tournaments to suit all buy-ins with top billing going to the two-day $300,000 guaranteed Main Event on 18th and 19th June 2011. The buy-in is $2,500+$200 with the winner set to walk away with a six-figure score. $100 satellites will run throughout the week building up to Main Event. The full tournament schedule can be found here.

Germany's Dominick Nitsche won the recent Merit Poker Middle East Championship, outlasting a 141-runner field to walk away with $167k. The 20-year-old also revealed details of a highly unusual celebration, something he'd probably rather have kept quiet. Found out what by clicking here.
