Mercier and Katchalov highlight NAPT Bounty Shootout final

Wednesday, 13 April 2011

The PokerStars North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun has been a big success despite a poor turnout. With all the focus on Vanessa Selbst making back-to-back final tables it’s poor Jason Mercier who has been forgotten. Last year’s NAPT Mohegan Sun Bounty Shootout champion has made it through to the final of the Bounty Shootout again.

Mercier arrives at the final of the $10,000 Bounty Shootout with six bounties already locked up for $30,000 in his pocket plus the potential bonus prize for most bounties. He has to get through a tough final table including the newest PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov. Joe Sweeney is the only one really challenging Mercier for bounties with five to his name.

The televised event’s final table plays out tomorrow after a day of rest for the players. They all start with even stacks as per the shootout format so no need for a chipcount.
