The Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino is over the halfway mark, and Men ‘The Master’ Men is making the headlines so far, taking down two of the preliminary tournaments.
First up for ‘The Master’ was the Sunday rebuy, a win which netted him over $67,500. Just two days later, Men picked up his second win after coming first in the $500 Omaha eight-or-better event for another $20,535.The headlines haven’t all been hogged by Nguyen though, as Barbara Enright, managed to win the $300 ladies event, while poker writer John Vorhaus finished seventh in the same event. Yes, John is a man, but casinos are not allowed to turn away paying customers in any of the events, even those branded for women.The main event of the festival, the $10,000 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker championship event runs from 23rd – 28th August.
The sixth annual edition of Grosvenor Casinos’ Goliath tournament series may have begun last week but players are being advised that there is still time to qualify for seats into its prestigious £120 buy-in main event.
Land-based and online gaming products innovator Scientific Games Corporation is set to run its second annual Shuffle Master Classic event next month offering one lucky poker player the chance to walk away with $100,000 in cash.
Land-based casino operator Estoril Sol has been awarded the first online gaming license for Portugal and has teamed up with platform provider Gaming1 to launch the new EstorilSolCasinos.pt domain.
With 5,000 expected entries, £250,000 guaranteed in prizes and only £120 to play, its no wonder Coventry is the place to be between July 30 and August 7.
