130 of the 665 starters are still in the hunt at the EPT Grand Final with Team PokerStars pro Max Martinez leading the charge for the €1.5m first prize. The Italian will start Day 3 in Monte Carlo with a stack of 456,300 putting him just ahead of American grinder Mohsin Charania who returns with 413,500.

There are plenty of big names dotted among the field, including Erik Seidel, who closed Day 2 third in the chip counts on 362,200 and €100k High Roller champion Justin Bonomo who sits in the middle of the pack on 221,900. Other notable survivors include David Sands, 281,100, Bruno Fitoussi 245,500, Faraz Jaka 140,100, Pius Heinz 70,600 and Leo Margets 69,500.


Recent Irish Open side event winner Lawrie Inman heads the UK challenge on 303,500 with Chris Brammer 267,400, Ben Vinson 200,800 and Rupert Elder 196,600 also well placed.
