Matusow and Schneider Amongst WSOP Winners

Matusow and Schneider Amongst WSOP Winners

Monday, 10 June 2013

Over the last 48 hours three more WSOP champions have been crowned inside the Rio. First to take home a piece of poker silverware and join Mike Matusow (Event #13 winner) on the list of recent winners was Jonathan Taylor.

The American pro managed to bundle his way through a packed $1,500 event to bag a top prize of $454,424. In the final stages of the tournament he built up a 2:1 chip lead and used it to good effect against Blake Bohn to scoop his first WSOP bracelet.

With Matusow and Taylor celebrating their wins somewhere on the Las Vegas strip, Tom Schneider and Mark Radoja both added their names to the list of 2013 champions.

Event #15 proved profitable for Schneider after he was able to use his poker dexterity to overcome 861 players and scoop the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E title and his third WSOP bracelet.

Mimicking Schneider’s success was Canada’s Radoja in Event #16. The $10,000 heads-up event is one of the most sought after titles at the WSOP and after some of the best players in the world had hit the rail it was Radoja and Don Nguyen left vying for the $331,190 top prize.

Despite losing a large portion of his chips early in their encounter, Radoja was able to win the tournament after forcing Nguyen all-in with Ad 3c. Although Radoja was behind with Ks 9s, the Jc 6h 5h 4d Kd board gave him the final pot and his first WSOP title.
