Matt Perrins to take to the boxing ring?

We know that Matt Perrins is a champion when it comes to poker but could he cut it in the boxing ring? We could be about to find out after the WSOP 2-7 bracelet winner raised the prospect of a charity boxing event involving poker players.

The thread on the BlondePoker.com forum has certainly provoked plenty of interest but nothing has yet been confirmed. Of course if Perrins takes up the boxing challenge he wouldn't be the first poker pro to battle it out in the ring. PokerStars pro Theo Jorgensen beat Gus Hansen in a bout in 2009 and ElkY and Lex Veldhuis are set to clash in a kick boxing contest later this year.
