Matt Myford is Mediterranean Deepstack Champion

At the moment it seems that not a day goes by without a Brit winning a tournament someone in the world. That fine run has continued at the Mediterranean Deepstack Poker Championship in Slovenia with Matt Myford taking the honours.

The Nottingham native took down the €550 Main Event, collecting €11,500 in the process. Irishman Thomas Nolan and Bluff Europe columnist Paul Jackson completed the 1-2-3 for players from the British Isles with Italians rounding out the rest of the in the money finishes.


The win in Portoroz was Myford's biggest to date. The youngster's previous best tournament finish was a £2,200 score in a GUKPT event.


The Deepstack action continues in Vienna this weekend with further tournaments scheduled for Marrakesh and Paris in November and December respectively.
