The Holland Casino Amsterdam is preparing to stage the Master Classics of Poker (MCOP), as the event goes into its 15th year. The tournament takes place from November 3 to 11. Along with famous Dutch players including Marcel Lüske, Rob Hollink and Noah Boeken, international poker stars Dave Colclough of the UK and Isabelle Mercier of Canada will also be putting in an appearance. Last year the total MCOP prize pot topped €2.5 million. The Holland Casino will also contribute to the prizepool this year, with a guaranteed input of no less than €63,900. The MCOP consists of seven different tournaments with Texas Hold'em and Omaha variants. The participants' stake varies from €120 to €5,000 and the total prize money for these tournaments depends on the number of participants. The main tournament in the MCOP, the Lido Poker Tournament, has a buy-in of €5,000. As well as the prize money, the nine finalists in the Lido Poker Tournament will this year leave with a $10,000 ticket to take part in the 2007 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
