Massive Macau High Stakes Challenge starts Friday

Macau is best known for its insanely high stakes cash games but it will be tournament action that takes centre stage there tomorrow.

Many of the world's top players including Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel and Sam Trickett will be at the Starworld Casino’s Poker King Club for the Macau High Stakes Challenge. All told around 80 players are set to take part in the event which has a buy-in of HK$2,000,000 (US$250,000) with an optional re-buy of HK$2,000,000. Organisers expect the winner to walk away with a first prize of around US$5m.


Other notable names who will be joining some very wealthy Asian businessmen will be the likes of Gus Hansen, John Juanda and Andrew Robl.
