Last year’s World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Champion, Mary Jones, has added the first Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) Pro Am Championship to her collection of honours.
The inaugural STPT event saw regional winners compete against an open field of professional and amateur players at Las Vegas’ South Point Hotel And Casino. Alongside Jones at the final table were STPT Louisiana winner Brandon Parker, Bob Meyer, Kelly ‘All In’ Flynn, Jeffery Hfu, Raquel Hakim and Moose Antley.
The climax of the final saw Jones battling it out with Flynn, who had come from behind with only a few chips left to within reach of Jones’ stack. The match ended when Jones went all in pre-flop before Flynn called and flipped over king seven suited. Jones then turned over two aces and became the first STPT Pro Am Champion.
Jones donated a substantial amount of her winnings to the Corps of Compassion homeless children’s charity, as the goal of the STPT is to raise funds and awareness through the promotion of charitable poker tournaments.
“Mary is what the STPT is all about, poker players uniting for a good cause and giving back', said Mark Fracalossi, the creator of STPT.
“I would also like to thank Mary publicly for her support of charity poker as she truly has a big heart.”
