Mariusz Srok wins first 2011-12 Sky Poker Tour event

Monday, 31 October 2011

The first leg of the Sky Poker Tour 2011-12 has concluded with more than 600 players taking part over four events at Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham. The main attraction was the £200 6-max event that attracted 194 runners.

Mariusz “Mariusz80” Srok qualified online via Sky Poker for just £5 and made the final six, guaranteeing himself at least £1,750 profit on that fiver. He knocked out four of his five opponents at the final, eventually beating the J-9 of runner-up Basharat Mahmood on a Q-9-3 flop holding A-Q.

Not only does Srok go home £12,675 richer for just a £5 investment, he immediately skyrockets to the top of the SPT Leaderboard. The winner of this leaderboard will receive a Team Sky Poker membership and a year of SPT buy-ins.

The full final table places and payouts were as follows:
1. Mariusz Srok - £12,675
2. Basharat Mahmood - £7,410
3. Paul Green - £4,446
4. Shaun King - £3,120
5. Ben Nuttall - £2,340
6. Richard Horton - £1,755
