The field of 155 at the World Poker Tour Venice Grand Prix has been narrowed down to 27 tables with WCOOP and Amsterdam Classics of Poker champion Marcel Bjerkmann leading the field on 463,300 chips.

The oldest continutally-running casino in the world, the Casino d’Venenzia, played host to Day 2 of the second WPT to hit Venice this season. We lost former November Niner and Day 1 chip leader Filippo Candio but some big names remain.

Recent Sunday Million winner and fellow ex-November Niner, James Akenhead, sits in fourth place in the chip counts with around double the average stack. Also, Kara Scott is still in contention, albeit with just 25 big blinds.

The winner of the event will take home €229,800 plus a $25,000 WPT Championship seat while all players at the final table will take home at least €13,795.

4 James Akenhead 336,000
