Online casino Mansion Poker is celebrating after one of its qualifiers for the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) tournament finished in 20th spot overall and went home in the money.
The Gibraltar-based online gaming entertainment company announced in May that it would be giving away 56 seats to the Las Vegas event in one week. One of these recipients of a seat, Denmark’s Mikkel Madsen, played well and will be returning from America with $300,000 in his pocket.
“It’s been a great ride and a wonderful feeling to win the prize money but I can’t wait for next year and a chance to progress even further,” said Madsen. “A WSOP bracelet is definitely the goal.”
Mansion announced that seven of the 56 seats it gave to the online qualifiers reached the top 500 poker players at this year’s WSOP, meaning that these beat almost 6,000 other players to pick up their cash prizes.
“Let’s not make light of this monumental achievement to reach 20th spot out of over 6,000 runners,” said Marc Goodwin from Mansion.
“It’s awesome and gives hope to all those who qualify online. Well done Mikkel.”
