Mansion Poker player “Dipthrong” has emerged as the winner of the site’s $250,000 Added Value Tournament Series final, beating a field of more than 200 to land a $28,215 prize.
The $30,000 Added Value final attracted a solid field of 242 entrants in the $300+$20 buy-in tournament with $30,000 cash added directly to the prize pool by Mansion. The No Limit Texas Hold'em event ended yesterday morning at 07:34GMT after four hours and 32 minutes in play with a total prize pool of $102,600 up for grabs.
When it came down to heads up play, a total of 27 hands were hard fought before Dipthrong finally triumphed over opponent “Newfoundglry.”
By the time the last hand was played, Dipthrong had a 276,000 to 86,000 chip lead. The Blinds were at 4,000/8,000. Newfoundglry raised to 24,000 with K5 off suit. Dipthrong re-raised All In with AK off suit.
Then, Newfoundglry called. An ace came on the flop and it was all over for Newfoundglry who had to be content with second place and the runner-up prize of a still sizeable $17,955, while Dipthrong's pair of aces saw him walk away with the impressive first prize.
