Manchester's Connor Tate will win at least $140,000 in the World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas this week as the last of Ladbrokes' British contenders for the ultimate prize in poker.
Connor flew to Las Vegas with 62 other top British poker players - 41 of whom went to Las Vegas as part of the Ladbrokespoker.com contingent to take part in the world's biggest poker tournament. Today, he's the last man standing of the 41 players who qualified through Ladbrokespoker.com. Connor has only been playing online poker for 18 months and is now playing for one of the largest prizes in poker - a staggering $7,500,000!
With only two days left and only 58 players remaining, Connor is one of four Brits left in the competition. Known under the alias ‘Sealy’ at the poker table, Connor was made to sweat it out in Vegas watching all his Ladbrokes counterparts including poker professionals bow out in the early stages.
Continuing his lucky streak, he commented: “I never dreamt I would make it this far – I’m still waiting for it to sink in! We’re now playing for serious money with some of the biggest players in the world. This is where all my training playing online at Ladbrokespoker.com comes into practice. We are playing very high stakes for very high winnings.”
