Abraham Kortoki has won a side event at the Borgata Poker Open. Nothing very newsworthy in that except that the event he won was the Ladies only tournament.
Kortoki said he entered the tournament as he was “tired of going home early” and that he “hadn’t had enough poker time”. Despite the fact that there were two other tournaments running later in the day as well as any number of sit n goes, he decided that the tournament to get that extra “poker time” would be the 269 runner ladies event.Organisers and players were less than impressed. Alyson Parker spoke for many when she said “Any gentleman that comes to play, on the face of it, is doing it with disrespectful intent.” Another player from Kortoki’s table who wished to remain anonymous added, “He wasn't just there for fun, he was obnoxious, every hand he needled people”.Kortoki collected a first prize of $20,982, and in a move that restored some credibility with the sisterhood, said he would be donating some of it to a breast cancer research charity. The last woman standing in the event, Nicole Rowe, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo a mastectomy in the next fortnight. She was pleased with his move, saying, “That’s very nice of him. Even just to think of that is very nice”.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Exclusive Bluff Sign-Up Bonus of the Week!200% sign-up bonus up to $600 with William Hill - the biggest sign-up bonus offer on the web for William Hill (and it's a whole 100% more than Pokernews.com!)
