Macau cash games begin again - Durrrr and Juanda big losers

Monday, 14 February 2011

The Aussie Millions is done and dusted but players are staying in that neck of the woods and flying north to Macau where, according to a poster on Two Plus Two, big cash games have resumed. As reported before, the games reach the dizzying heights of $100,000/$200,000 HKD (approx. £8,000/£16,000) as rich Chinese businessmen take on the pros.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan is practically a Chinese citizen at this point after his initial stay in Macau yielded reputed profits of over $10,000,000 – and they’re not Hong Kong dollars, either. This time around he hasn’t been so fortunate and both he and Macau regular John Juanda are down over $2m USD. Johnny Chan is apparently the big winner as well as a local businessman making a lot of money at the felt.

You can read an interview with Aussie Millions High Roller champion Sam Trickett about the Macau cash games here.
