Louise Atkinson wins latest Betfred LPT event

Monday, 7 June 2010

A total of 69 players gathered at Napoleons Casino in Sheffield for the latest leg of the Betfred Ladies Poker Tour over the weekend.

In the end it was Louise Atkinson who emerged victorious to take the first prize of £2,320 as well as a seat in the end of season play off where a Betfred sponsorship package worth £20,000 can be won.

Atkinson went into the final table holding a dominant chip advantage and kept the pressure up throughout to set up a heads up encounter with Theresa Kitson who had earlier rocketed up the leaderboard after hitting a straight to bust Lisa Arisaman's trip nines.

Atkinson went into two-handed play with a three to one chip lead and soon sealed the deal. The chips went in with Kiston holding what appeared to be a dominant looking K7 over Atkinson's J7. A Jack duly appeared on the turn though leaving Kitson to settle for £1,680 for her second place finish.

The Betfred LPT heads to the Aspers Casino in Northampton for the next leg on 3rd July with further stops in Maidenhead, Birmingham, Calahonda in Spain and London.

Satellites are up and running at BetfredPoker.
