Lou Krieger Passes Away

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

Lou Krieger, one of the poker industry’s most prolific authors, has recently died following a battle with cancer.

The man who served as an inspiration to many was a familiar name and face to those who’ve been around the game for the past ten years and his passing will certainly be a loss for the community.

The news of Lou’s death was published on his Facebook page in the early hours of Tuesday morning, along with a small tribute to his importance to those around him.

“It is my deepest regret to inform you that early this morning Lou’s fight against cancer ended. He fought courageously to the end with the same pride and dignity that carried him through his life. He wanted everyone to know that he did not go peacefully in his sleep but fighting like hell. He was surrounded by his family. We know he would want everyone to keep floppin’ aces. He will be missed by all that knew him. Poker has lost a star.”

Since then a slew of good will messages have filled the page, with noted poker figures such as Nollan Dalla penning tributes to one of poker’s good guys.
