Tournaments. Check. Cash games. Check. Eight major Main Events. Check. £1m in prize money. Check. Music and comedy nights. Check. Player parties. Check. British Poker Awards. Check. Yes, we're just about ready for the London Poker Festival which kicks off this afternoon.

80 events spread across eight different card rooms are scheduled throughout September with over £1m in prize money up for grabs and plenty of guaranteed prize pools. The festival includes tournaments and cash games to suit all pockets, plus parties, comedy nights, live music, a poker academy and of course the British Poker Awards.


Main events include the LCI UK Poker Tour, The Unibet Open London, The Big Bluff Five-O, the GUKPT, The English Poker Open, The September Festival Main Event and the 888.com Superstack Series.


The action gets under way at the Fox Poker Club in Shaftesbury Avenue at 2pm in the form of the club's £250 buy-in Fox Super Saturday. Players looking for a laugh should head to the Casino at the Empire on Sunday for an evening with comic Alistair Barrie starting at 7.30pm.


The action really hots up next week with the Palm Beach Big Game, Aspers Big Bounty, The London Poker Festival Players' Party...
