Tuesday, 1 February 2011

The north west was the centre of the UK poker tournament scene this weekend with the APAT Champion of Champions event taking place in Bolton, just down the road from GUKPT Manchester.

25 teams from poker communities throughout the UK and Ireland took part in a special team event with the London Poker Meet Up taking the honours ahead of BlackBelt Poker and the Gambling Network. Niall Farrell took the individual title and £1,250 first prize ahead of Linda Godfrey and Mark Trett.

The biggest prize up for grabs over the weekend though was a Betfair sponsorship package. All APAT Season 4 winner were eligible to play alongside the leaders of the live and online rankings table. In the end it was Warren Jones who took the £20,000 package after beating Max Kruis heads up.

The Amateur Poker and Association and Tour is set to return later this year.
