London Poker Circuit comes to an end

Friday, 18 September 2009

The organisers of the London Poker Circuit have announced that all of its events are suspended until further notice. LPC, which promoted a series of deep-stacked tournaments in some of London’s top hotels, put the move down to monetary considerations.

In an official statement, organiser Phil Gregg said, “The dissolution of the LPC is based purely on its financial circumstances and the fact that we are not permitted to have cash games or attract players for anything other than tournaments. This, coupled with the gaming duty and the costs of running the events make the venture impossible to kick start.”

Numbers were a little low for some events but those who did play were full of praise for their excellent deep-stacked structure and the fine surroundings in which to play.

LPC hasn’t ruled out a return in the future, should circumstances change.
