London Clubs International launches new charity campaign

Tuesday, 21 July 2009

Casino group London Clubs International has launched a new charity campaign aimed at helping people living in South African townships. Players at each of LCI’s ten UK casinos have been challenged to fill a 40-foot shipping container with clean second hand clothing for adults and children, books, sports kit and equipment and art and crafts materials.

Portsmouth and South Africa footballer Aaron Mokoena, who grew up in a township in Gauteng Province, has given his backing to the campaign, as have Liverpool FC who have already donated plenty of kit.

Head of compliance at London Clubs International Roy Ramm said “London Clubs International is passionate in our role to support charitable issues both in our local communities and overseas. Your donations will be put into the hands of the people who need them the most. We will be distributing the supplies directly to the children and needy within the townships and your clothes, sports goods, reading books and art material will make a huge difference to their lives.”

Donations can be left at London Clubs International Casinos in London, Brighton, Southend, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham or Glasgow until the end of August.
