A battle of the Old Skool – Frazer vs Devilfish

Friday, 9 October 2009

The Round 2 encounter between Ian Frazer and Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott lasted a little shorter than anticipated. Yesterday, Luke Schwartz and Yevgeniy Timoshenko faced off in what could be considered as a battle of the youth – or a clash of the online generation. Today, however, or just moments a go to be more precise - a match-up of the old skool took place between Ian Frazer and Dave Ulliott.

However, like yesterday’s encounter between Timoshenko and Schwartz, the old govn’rs of the UK took little time to complete their match. Frazer took an early lead before Devilfish demanded for a change in deck due to the lack of good cards he was seeing. Then, as if the poker gods decided to play a sick joke, Devilfish was dealt pocket aces, getting it all in on the flop of K 7 10 only to see Frazer flip two pair with K 10. The rest of the board brought no help for the Devilfish and like that he was gone.

"It was just one of those things...that's poker." He says, speaking to Kara Scott in his post-match interview – only to then carry on moaning about the cold deck after the cameras went off.
