SkyPoker, Rob Yong and the team at Dusk Till Dawn can be well pleased with their efforts after smashing the £500,000 guarantee at the UK Poker Championship Main Event.

A total of 435 runners took to the tables on day 1b to generate a total prize pool of £621,000.

Liam Batey finished the day in front, building a stack of 215,600 followed by Peter Mok (180,000) and Henryk Nowakowski (164,300).

A host of top players survived the second opening flight including John Kabbaj (126,700), Jamie Burland (79,600), Carlo Citrone (77,500), Willie Tann (76,600), Martins Adeniya (65,200), John Eames (55,800), Neil Channing (54,000), Ryan Spittles (48,000) and Tom Hall (38,600).

The 276 day 1b surviviors will resume battle with the 76 players who made it through day 1 to battle for a first prize of around £125,000.

British Poker Award nominee Barny Boatman is the hare in front of the hounds and will have a big chip lead when play resumes this lunchtime.

Side Event Round Up – Mad Turk Heads PLO

The PLO side event attracted a field of 79 runners with 26 making it through day one. Leading the way at the close was Yucel 'Mad Turk' Eminoglu who closed bagged up 242,100.

Other familiar figures who'll be back for day 2 include Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott (130,000), Tamer Kamel (89,200) and WPT South Africa runner up Jerome Bradpiece (44,300).
