Levi leads the way at EPT Deauville but ElkY is looming

Saturday, 23 January 2010

Day Two at the PokerStars EPT in Deauville was a rapid-fire affair with the 395-strong starting field whittled down to just 133 by the close of play.

Home favourite Nicolas Levi sits at the top of the leader board nursing a healthy stack of almost 650,000 chips closely followed by fellow Frenchman Ludovic Lacay with just over half a million.

There’s plenty of class evident lower down the leader board too with ElkY, Dario Minieri, Juha Helppi and Peter Eastgate all handily placed. It will be a tough ask for Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald to make another deep run though. The Canadian sits at the bottom of the pile with just 28,500 chips.

The British contingent has performed well so far with Jake Cody, Andrew Teng and Javed Abrahams all in the top ten. Big names who busted out yesterday included November Niner Antoine Saout, Katja Thater, Alex Kravchenko and Jean-Robert Bellande.

The action resumes at 1pm today UK time. We will of course keep you up to date with all the news as it happens.
