Leonid Bilokur leads EPT Vilamoura

Monday, 30 August 2010

After the two opening flights at the latest European Poker Tour event in Vilamoura it is Russia's Leonid Bilokur who is leading the way just ahead of Portuguese player Andre Coimbra.

There are plenty of big names dotted amongst the 221 remaining players including the likes of Sorel Mizzi, Brandon Cantu, David Williams, Dario Minieri, Antonio Esfandiari and William Thorsson. There's a really strong British presence at the head of the chip counts too with Sam Trickett, Paul Foltyn, Toby Lewis, Stephen Chidwick, Liv Boeree, Jonathan Weekes and John Duthie all very handily placed. The Irish challenge is led by Nick Heather who ended Day 1B with the second largest stack.

Bilokur is the man to beat though. The Russian has experienced some success on the EPT before, winning a €2k side event at EPT Berlin for a €174k score. He's well placed to challenge for the first prize which stands at €467k.

The leading chip counts are as follows:

Leonid Bilokur 161,200
Andre Coimbra157,600
Paul Foltyn 145,900
Toby Lewis 141,900
Nick Heather 140,800
Danny Neess 139,000
Sam Trickett 132,600
Sorel Mizzi 132,200
Dario Minieri 31,400
Antonio Esfandiari 127,800
