Leo Margets beats Vicky Coren for EPT Ladies’ title

Wednesday, 2 May 2012

The Ladies’ Event at the PokerStars EPT Monte Carlo saw two well-known female players going head-to-head for the title. Britain took on Spain as Vicky Coren and Leo Margets made a deal before playing out for the title.

Notable names got close, but Melanie Weisner and Vanessa Selbst both busted without a money finish, despite the latter making the final table. In the end, Margets and Coren did battle with the tournament concluding after Coren’s A9 couldn’t outrun AK.

Vicky won’t be too disappointed with her €10,950 finish; she is also fresh from a €58,000 victory in the heads-up tournament at EPT Berlin.
The full payouts were as follows:

1st: Leo Margets €16,850
2nd: Victoria Coren (Pokerstars Team Pro) €10,950
3rd: Jan Combes (EPT London Ladies Champion) €6,380
4th: Nicole Kotrinos €4,560
5th: Ingrida Klassen €3,650
6th: Darya Hulyk €3,200
