There are many things to be learned from TV series, The Sopranos (key among them, never raise the ire of Tony Soprano by sleeping with members of his family), but perhaps most importantly there are the poker tips offered by Silvio Dante (played by Steve Van Zandt) in new book called ‘Entertaining With The Sopranos’, due in book stores soon.
Key among them are don’t play slowly, don’t forget what’s going on, don’t talk too much and don’t be a poor winner (in Dante’s words “don't keep stacking and restacking your big load of chips like you were Donald Trump building a skyscraper”).
Perhaps the most important rule to consider though if you do ever find yourself in the unlikely situation of playing with a member of The Family is don’t ever ask for assistance from another player. Dante’s advice in this situation? “If confronted with such a person, always give them explicit money-losing advice. They'll learn fast.” Harsh, but perhaps fair when you consider who it’s coming from.
