Layne Flack Leads WPT Cyprus Heading to Money

Layne Flack Leads WPT Cyprus Heading to Money

Thursday, 10 September 2009

After several days of play, 55 players returned to the felt at the World Poker Tour Merit Cyprus Classic event, including Full Tilt Pros Allen Cunningham, Chris Ferguson and Andy Bloch as well as Sorel Mizzi, Bruno Fitoussi and Dan Harrington. All of these players hit the rail on Day 3 as play thundered towards the money bubble.

Joining Layne Flack towards the top of the chip counts was Full Tilt Pro Huck Seed (456,000), currently the NBC National Heads-Up Champion and therefore in good stead to make it at the final hurdle – should he go that far.

Australian player Anthony Aboukhalil is in 21st place of the 21 remaining at the end of Day 3, but he barely even made it that far to scrape through on 52,000 chips. He began Day 2 with just 9,000 chips – less than he began with. Somehow he built that up to 87,000 before dropping down to 12,000 on Day 3 and building back up to 52,000. Can he ride the variance wave to the money in 18th place?
