Lawrie Inman leads at the end of GUKPT London Main Event Day 1A

Friday, 26 March 2010

Over 140 players gathered at London's Victoria Casino yesterday for the opening day of the latest GUKPT Main Event and by the close of play just 38 remained.

Leading the way at bagging up time was Lawrie Inman who had managed to accumulate a stack of 106,900. Joining him in six figures was Marc Wright on 102,900. Looming large is the presence of multiple GUKPT winner Priyan de Mel. The GUKPT Bolton and Blackpool winner is very handily positioned in 6th place with a stack of 86,200.

There are plenty of other familiar faces scattered amongst the remaining members of the field including Steve Jelinek, Tony Cascarino, Mick McCool and Vicky Coren. Jeff Kimber will be able to concentrate full on this Sunday's Bluff Europe Poker Academy though after busting out. Other high profile casualties who hit the rail yesterday include Ram Vaswani, Mickey Wernick, Michael Greco and Walsall Main Event winner Colin McTaggart.

Another big field is expected today for the second opening flight. Join us for updates over the next few days.
