Despite myriad attractions elsewehere a very decent field of 61 player coughed up the £500 buy in for the latest leg of the Coral British Poker Masters in Nottingham over the weekend.
In the end it was Lam Trinh who had most reason to cheer after beating British Masters regular Tom Feilding to take the title. Trinh went into heads up play with a 330,000 to 280,000 chip lead but saw that advantage disappear early on after he ran into Feilding's trip Queens. With just 80,000 left it was Trinh's turn to double up after his AK held up against Q3. The chips went in the middle again on a 2-7-9 board. Trinh revealed 8-7 for middle pair with Feilding needing help with A2. The turn and river helped neither player and gave Trinh the chip lead again. The end followed soon after with Trinh sealing the deal in style. The chips went in on a 2-2-6-8-4 board with three diamonds showing but Trinh had no reason to fear a flush as he tabled 6-2 for the full house. Trinh pocketed £11,580 for the win and also earned a seat in the end of season play off where a Coral sponsorship package worth £10,000. Feidling's runner up finish earned him £7,000 and extended his lead at the top of the Coral Masters leader board. The final table positions and payouts were as follows:1st...Lam Trinh £11,5802nd...Tom Feidling £7,0203rd...Aarun Bernard £4,2704th...Dave Maudlin £3,0505th...Julian Davies £2,1406th...Mike Moore £1,5207th...Danny Hernon £920 The next leg on the Coral Masters Tour takes place at the Gala Casino in Stockton on Tees from 10th to 12th September 2010.
