Ladbrokes has announced its intention to ‘own the online poker space’ during the Sky Sports’ ‘Poker Million – the Masters II’ tournament, through an ambitious six-figure e-marketing and sponsorship campaign, which will see its LadbrokesPoker.com brand becoming ubiquitous on the web. Site genres such as sports, TV listings, men’s e-zines such as Maxim and games sites will carry banners and skyscrapers throughout the duration of the tournament, which is aired every Friday night until July.
Unique Digital, the online marketing agency that has planned and bought for the campaign, hopes that this strategy will ensure increased brand awareness and drive traffic to the site. Colin Cole-Johnson, head of marketing for LadbrokesPoker.com, said: 'It's a great opportunity to create awareness of Ladbrokes' sponsorship of the event and it gives our customers the chance to compete on TV against the best poker players in Europe, as well as celebrities like Teddy Sheringham, Sir Clive Sinclair and last year's winner Jimmy White.'
Ladbrokespoker.com has also sent thirty-six players to Poker Million, after they qualified on the site, making it the main source of recruitment for the tournament.
