The Main Event itself starts at noon tomorrow with players competing for a guaranteed prize pool of €250,000. Jimmy McSweeney took the honours last year, outlasting a bumper field of 832 runners to claim the first prize of €100,000.


With Lady Gaga looking unlikely to accept Ladbrokes’ kind invitation to play, it will be left to Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and former World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty to provide the celebrity factor.


In addition to the Main Event there will also be two side events. A two-day €270+ €30 event starts on Saturday with a one day €150+€20 kicking off at 12pm on Sunday.
