Kyle Cartwright wins WSOP Circuit St. Louis for $142,000

Wednesday, 13 April 2011

After entering final table play as chip leader Kyle Cartwright has put his stack to good use and taken down the World Series of Poker Circuit event at Harrah’s St. Louis for a first prize of over $140,000.

Cartwright caught all the right cards, eliminating Steve Goff; online pro Chris Viox and Ron Segni to get heads-up versus Asheesh Boyapati holding a chip lead of around 5-1. The heads-up showdown didn’t last too long with Boyapati 3-bet shoving 8-5o on the fifth hand of play and Cartwright calling – and holding – with K-Qo for the win.

This gives Cartwright his third World Series of Poker Circuit ring and since he has already qualified for the National Championship, another player will be going through thanks to him. The final table payouts were as follows:

1.Kyle Cartwright $142,290
2.Asheesh Boyapati $87,927
3.Ron Segni $64,249
4.Phil Stelzer $47,705
5.Troy Weber $35,973
6.Chris Viox $27,533
7.Mitch Franks $21,382
8.Steve Goff $16,842
9.Nick Jivkov $13,453
