Kurganov Heads EPT €100k High Roller

Friday, 1 May 2015

The big names were out in force in Monte Carlo yesterday for the opening day of the €100,000 EPT Grand Final Super High Roller.

52 players bought in a total of 64 times on Thursday with Igor Kurganov sitting out in front by bagging up time. He'll return with a round 1,000,000 chips putting the co-founder of the Raising for Effective Giving charity just ahead of Ole Schemion (930,000) and Erik Seidel (857,000).

Yesterday's field read like a who's who of high roller talent with the likes of Justin Bonomo, Fedor Holz, WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno and Tobias Reinkemeier all closing the day in the top 10.

At least 44 players will be back when play resumes this lunch. They include Isaac Haxton, Talal Shakerchi, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Sam Trickett and Dan Colman who has already fired three bullets.

Entry is option until 45 minutes after the start of play so the record-breaking field could get even bigger.
