Kevin Vandermissen leads PokerStars EPT Snowfest final table

Friday, 25 March 2011

Yesterday the final 24 players left in contention at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Snowfest in Austria gathered again to play down to a final table which has now been set with Belgian player Kevin Vandermissen holding a mighty chip lead.

Vandermissen, who started the day with a stack of roughly 800,000, built it up to over 4.5m by the end of play, giving him a multi-million chip gap between his 4.512m stack and Cristian Dragomir 2.93m in second place.

Romania’s Dragomir is perhaps best known for taking part in the World Cup of Poker in Barcelona and helping Romania take second place; or for a deep run in the WSOP Main Event in 2008. OK, OK, we kid – he’s best known as being the Idiot from Northern Europe (Hellmuth might want to check his globe and look up Romania):

Each of the eight players returning to the Snowfest final table is guaranteed €35,000 but the first prize is over ten times that at a nice €390,000. The final table chip counts are as follows:

1.Kevin Vandermissen 4.512m
2.Cristian Dragomir 2.293m
3.Philip Meulyzer 1.758m
4.Vladimir Geshkenbein 1.678m
5.Koen de Visscher 1.543m
6.Denis Murphy 997k
7.Giacomo Maisto 986k
8.Morten Mortensen 740k
