Kessler Claims WSOP-C Gold

Kessler Claims WSOP-C Gold

Wednesday, 27 March 2013

Allen Kessler might like to stir up controversy on poker forums across the poker world, but he recently demonstrated that he’s also still a poker pro by winning a WSOP-C event at Circuit Lodge Casino, Colorado.

Always in contention during any tournament he plays – namely because of his tight style – “The Chainsaw” managed to take down the $500 and claim second WSOP Circuit ring early yesterday morning.

Having played through the night on Monday, the US pro overcame a 4:1 chip deficit heads-up to beat Brian Green and bank $20,859.

While he admitted after the victory that “$20,000 isn’t going to make or break” his life, he was complimentary towards the staff and players, noting: “[Tournament director Dennis Jones] and his staff are really nice. I just enjoy coming to the tournaments and playing and seeing all the people I know.”

The piece of WSOP-C jewellery was the first since 2007 for Kessler and comes just one week after being announced as the 30th member of Team Ivey.
