Kara Scott to wed

Friday, 12 April 2013

Team PartyPoker player Kara Scott is reportedly set to marry boyfriend Giovanni Rizzo after the fellow professional poker player popped the question during a recent holiday in the Italian city of Venice.

Scott played and fulfilled various hosting duties at the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Grand Prix, which ran at the Casino Di Venezia from March 25 to 30, and revealed in a tweet on April 10 that something other than her €7,200 cash has put a smile on her face.

“Ah, Venice. You've always been good to me. #LaBellaVita,” read the tweet.

This was followed by an article on PokerNews that revealed the Canada-born player had become engaged with Rizzo popping the question in the same locale where the pair shared their first kiss.

After being together for a year, getting engaged would seem to be the next logical step in their relationship as they’ve also been living together in Italy for the past few months.

Rizzo is also a poker player and focuses mainly on cash games although he is often on the tournament circuit flying the flag for sponsor Gioco Digitale.

As news of Scott’s engagement filtered through the poker world, she took to Twitter to thank those who’d sent her messages of congratulations.

“Thank you so much for the lovely wishes from you all on our engagement,” read a statement from Scott.

“I really am moved by the warmth of them. Sono felicissimo! @gioriz84.”
