Bodog.com has announced that Justin ‘Zeejustin’ Bonomo will no longer be one of its sponsored pros.
A statement from Ed Pownall Global Public Relations Director for BodogBrand.com, confirmed the news explaining, “Bodog and Justin Bonomo have agreed that, with the transition of the Bodog-branded poker rooms to the Bodog Network in 2010, now was a natural time to re-evaluate the relationship and have agreed to part ways.” Speaking to Poker News Daily, Bonomo’s agent Matt Palmer added, “While Justin will miss playing alongside his fellow Bodog teammates and good friends Evelyn Ng and David Williams, he's ready to move on to bigger and better opportunities. We've begun conversations regarding new sponsorship opportunities and we're excited to work with a poker brand that is better able to leverage Justin's poker success and personality.” Bonomo, who was implicated in a multi-accounting scandal in 2006, has career earnings of over $2.5m. He had a fifth place finish in the $40,000 buy-in 40th anniversary tournament at this year’s WSOP. The 25-year-old’s departure from Bodog comes soon after that of Jean-Robert Bellande and leaves David Williams and Evelyn Ng as the only remaining pros in the Bodog stable.
