Jukka Koskela wins EMOP Lisbon

Finland may only be a small country but in Patrik Antonius, Juha Helppi, Ziigmund, Sami 'LarsLuzak' Kelopuro it has produced some mighty fine poker players. While Jukka Koskela may not be quite as noted as his illustrious countrymen he still has plenty of reasons to cheer after winning the latest European Masters of Poker event in Lisbon over the weekend.

The youngster topped a 309-runner field in the €1,100 buy-in Main Event to take home a first prize of €72,615 sealing the win with pocket queens against unfortunate heads up opponent Asger Boye's pocket tens.


Koskella makes it a hat trick of Finnish player to have won EMOP Main Event title, joining Matias Knaapinen and Johanna Pyysing.

The Crystal Crown Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria is the venue for the next EMOP event. It runs from May 30 to June 5, 2011. Qualifiers are up and running at Victor Chandler Poker and other Entraction sites.
