Wednesday, 22 August 2012

Just 207 of the thousand plus starters are left at PokerStars EPT Barcelona with a pair of very familiar faces at the head of the chip counts. 2008 WSOPE Main Event John Juanda winner leads the way with 732,400 followed by online legend Ilari Sahamies who returns with 523,500.

Plenty of big names will be back for day 3 including Daniel Negreanu (248,600), 2012 EPT Grand Final winner Mohsin Charania (99,700), Finns Jani Sointula (85,900) and Juha Helppi (60,100) and Team PokerStars pro Barry Greenstein (18,100).

Hopes of yet another British EPT victory remain strong with Josh Hart (277,000) and Daniel Rudd (270,000) leading the challenge from Blighty. They will be joined by the likes of Ben Jackson, Zimnan Ziyard, Pete Akery, Roberto Romanello, Ben Frankland and last year's November Niner Sam Holden.

A total of 160 players will share the prize pool of just over €5.2m with the winner set to walk away with €1,007,050 as well as a shiny new Shamballa bracelet.
