Juan Maceiras Lapido heads Partouche Poker Open

Friday, 16 September 2011

The business end of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event is fast approaching with just 47 players still in contention for the €1m first prize. Juan Maceiras Lapido is in pole position with 800,000 but there are some big names breathing down the Spaniard's neck.

French pro Ludovic Lacay is second in the chip counts on 770,000 with recent British Poker Award winner Sam Trickett in tenth on 535,000. Other notables to have survived into Day 4 include Finlan's Juha Helppi, UK tournament regular Ben Vinson and multiple WPT finalist Joe Cassidy.

Freddy Deeb won't be back today, after busting shortly before yesterdays close. Joining him in the money but on the rail were Arnaud Mattern and James Bord.

Today's starters are all assured a five figure score (about enough to buy a sandwich and a beer in Cannes) but will be hoping for much more. Join us tomorrow to see who is that step closer to €1m.
