Monday, 24 October 2011

Just 144 of the 800 plus starters have made it through to Day 3 at EPT San Remo with Joseph Cheong leading the way. Last year's WSOP Main Event third place finisher amassed a stack of 632,200 by the close of play, putting him just ahead of Aussie Daniel Neilson on 584,500 and Italian Poker Tour Player of the Year Mustafa Kanit who has 577,000.

Vanessa Selbst is very handily placed on 497,000 as are Jon Spinks, who leads the UK challenge on 355,500 and recent WSOPE Main Event winner Elio Fox who returns with 346,000. Other notables in the upper echelons of the leader board include Lex Veldhuis 341,000, Barny Boatman 300,000, Johnny Lodden 287,500, Kevin MacPhee 283,500 and Mike 'Timex' McDonald 265,000.

Shorter stacked but still in contention are the likes of Melanie Weisner, John Duthie, Toby Lewis, Shaun Deeb and Marco Traniello.

The action resumes this lunchtime with the blinds standing at 1,500/3,000 with a 300 ante. The money bubble is set to burst early today with 128 of the 144 remaining players making at least €7,000.
