Thursday, 12 January 2012

While the end of 2011 was a period that Jonathan Duhamel would rather forget, karma is smiling on him and the start of 2012 has been a great one for the former world champ. After cashing in the Super High Roller event at the PCA, Duhamel has followed up with a win in the $5,000 No Limit side event.

Duhamel had to beat out some tough competition at the final table including fellow PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier (3rd) and reigning world champion Pius Heinz (5th). He earned $239,830 for his victory, which boosts his lifetime tournament earnings over the $10,000,000 milestone.

Duhamel has cashed for more than $550k at the PCA this year and will be looking to expand on that with the $25,000 High Roller event that begins today. The final table of the $5,000 side event was as follows:

1. Jonathan Duhamel - $239,830
2. Edward Kim - $134,100
3. Jason Mercier - $80,460
4. Keven Stammen - $57,470
5. Pius Heinz - $45,980
