Joeri Zandvliet wins second UKIPT title in Dublin

Tuesday, 13 September 2011

While Postman Pat – sorry, Max Silver – failed to make back-to-back UKIPT Dublin championships, he did get as far as the final table, finishing fourth, and we have a new double UKIPT winner regardless.

Joeri Zandvliet, who last year took down the UKIPT Manchester shortly before final tabling the UKIPT Edinburgh, has made his third UKIPT final table – staggering, considering he has only played in six of them. This is also his second win, tying him with Nick Abou Risk for UKIPT titles.

Defending champion Max Silver wound up busting out in fourth place but did well to make it that far after starting with a short stack. Zandvliet beat Chuck Fabian heads-up to claim the title after 716 other players had busted to claim the lion’s share of the €348k prize pool.

The final table payouts were as follows:
1. Joeri Zandvliet €83,500
2. Chuck Fabian €49,600
3. Robert Csire €30,700
4. Max Silver €22,650
5. Jason Tompkins €17,600
6. Noel O’Brien €13,950
7. Rory Curtis €10,450
8. David Docherty €8,000
