Joe Hachem and Victor Ramdin at The Big Event final table in LA

Thursday, 10 March 2011

Day 4 of The Big Event at Los Angeles’s Bicycle Casino was relatively short as the 417-strong field was already down to just 22 players, thus reaching the 8-handed final table took but a few hours with PokerStars Pros Joe Hachem and Victor Ramdin both making the coveted eight.

Jeremy Ausmus snatched the chip lead from aggressive Victor Ramdin after building up a 12 big blind stack to holding over a third of the chips in play. He picked up aces early to double up and built up to over 700,000 before winning a big flip with J-J against A-K before waking up with aces after final table bubble boy David Paredes moved all-in with Q-J. He takes over four million in chips to the final table, nearly double the stack of Victor Ramdin.

Joe Hachem sites in fourth place with 1.66m, good for 65 big blinds when final table play begins tomorrow with blinds at 12,000/24,000/2,000. Each of the eight returning players is guaranteed $35,327 for their efforts but the top prize is half a million dollars.

1.Jeremy Ausmus 4,008,000
2.Victor Ramdin 2,279,000
3.Taylor von Kriegenbergh 1,810,000
