Jim Anderson wins WSOP Circuit Regional Championship

Friday, 29 October 2010

Overall a grand total of 226 players competed in the inaugural $10,000 Regional Championship of the World Series of Poker Circuit with the final table earning seats in the upcoming National Championship; a televised million dollar tournament with a WSOP bracelet for the winner.

Jim Anderson, a bartender, has not only secured his seat in the National Championship but also boosted his bankroll significantly after outlasting a very talented final table to claim the first prize of $525,449. He had to dodge the likes of Shannon Shorr, Brandon Adams, Bernard Lee and Dave “Doc Sands” Sands along the way.

Eventually he came heads-up with Gabe “luckygabe” Patgorski, who didn’t get so lucky running A-J into A-A all-in before the flop. Despite making top pair on a jack-high board it wasn’t good enough for Patgorski who received $324,770 for his runner-up spot.

The full final table payouts were as follows:

1. Jim Anderson $525,449
2. Gabe Patgorski $324,770
3. Bernard Lee $236,368
4. Curt Kohlberg $174,807
5. Dave Sands $131,299
6. Shannon Shorr $100,151
7. Brandon Adams $77,556
8. Tony Hartmann $60,952
9. Mark Owens $48,615
